Advancing Image Registration Through Collaboration
Biomedical image registration is fundamental to understanding anatomy, tracking disease progression, and guiding clinical care. Yet registration remains challenging: differences in anatomy, imaging modalities, acquisition protocols, and disease can make reliable spatial alignment difficult. Since 2019, Learn2Reg has brought together researchers worldwide through educational activities, shared datasets, and international registration challenges. These efforts have advanced the development and evaluation of image registration algorithms across a wide range of biomedical applications. Now, we aim to take this collaboration further. The Learn2Reg Consortium builds on this foundation to foster sustained international collaboration, connect research communities, promote reproducible science, and accelerate the development of registration methods that are robust, accessible, and clinically meaningful.
